Victoria isn't Alberta... its built on a big freaking rock,

So you go overland and up a significant grade to a facility built on some scrap of land miles away and hopefully not too near a salmon stream... then pump it back for discharge or... you start trying to scratch through a lot of rock.

Trust me... I'm pretty familiar with Victorias water and sewer system.

Its a big issue there...people want it but there are some very large hurdles in the way.

In the mean time they are struggling just trying to maintain an adequate fresh water supply and the old pipes and valves.
You seem pretty defensive about Victoria, perhaps you are ashamed of their poor environmental practices.

Plans to treat the sewage are underway and costs look to be around $800 million, with $500 coming from government. You acted like it was an impossible task but its happening.

The key word being... approved and... not according to what I just read.

Hardly.
Victoria is one of the dirtiest cities I've ever lived in.
Their recycling program was a farce and there was garbage all over the place.

I didn't act like it was an impossible task... I said it was more difficult than you implied and very costly. I also said that it was on the table and had been for quite some time.

300 million is a pretty big chunk of coin when one considers the size of the place. A further 500 million is a lot when you consider he population of BC.

If the same thing were proposed here for a city of a similar size... say... Red Deer... Albertans would lose their minds.

Lol. Victoria has 345,000 red deer 95,000. The 500 million is from federal and provincial governments.

It must be embarrassing for you to have a worse environmental record than Alberta. Edmonton and Calgary are in the top 5 for sewage threatened centres. It doesnt help that victorians think its an environmentally friendly way to dispose of their crap. Shape up or ship out.

Washington state has had a huge ****ing match with B.C. for many years over this as live bacteria from victoria sewers wash up on their shores. Victoria denies this of course. Ain't the seals cute? Ban guns. Ban Alberta pipelines. Let's **** on the yankee bastiges.

LOL... check your facts.

Victoria has a population of just over 80 thousand and big chunk
of them are OIP mooches that pay little to no tax.
Don't assume that the greater Victoria area is tied in with Victoria itself when it comes to infrastructure.

Its not like here where we send water from Edmonton to as far away as Viking.

And FYI... I don't live there... but I did for a couple years.... mouth.
