So what does this mean for fishing? When is supossed to be a good time in terms of the moon's phases?

Ok this is my theory and ive always had luck with it Full moon worst time to fish as the moon lights up the water and the fish feed at night. The best times are New moon 2 days before and 2 days after are the prime and 2 days before the first quarter and 2 days after the Half moon I hope this helps you out and Good to see you Joined Alberta outdoorsmen Travis , Look forward to fishing with you soon .
