Default Lethbridge Area?

In Lethbridge on a course for a couple of days. I just happened to have my fishing gear with me. Any places nearby I can try for a couple of hours before it gets dark?

Also thinking of hitting Travers on the way back Sat. morning. Any recent reports and/or recommendations. I never have any luck there. Thinking of trying the old inlet spillway - it's the only place I know. Anyone wanna meet up? PM me if you don't want to divulge any secrets to the world. TIA

Henderson Lake right in Lethbridge comes to mind... granted I haven't fished there for years, but at one time pike, perch, and the odd goldfish could be caught. Keho Lake can sometimes be good for large pike, St. Mary's Res. has whitefish in it I think. There's also Park Lake, Ridge Res., Chin Res.... all these places are probably 30 minutes or less away from Lethbridge.

Yes there is henderson on the west side. Take woop-up across the river and hang a left at your first lights. Take that road it takes you right to the lake.

Lots of big browns and brooks in there (UofL breed stock) some big pike and tiny perch.

Ok, I wussed out of heading out in the cold tonight - it was cold! So I hung out at Wholesale Sports instead I doubt if I'll make it out tomorrow evening either. Thanks for your suggestions, guys.

So there hasn't been much said about Travers. Am I wasting my time? How's the lake access at the inlet from McGregor? The west end of the lake at the Prov. Park looks pretty shallow according to the lake depth map. Is there lake access here?

Travers isn't a waste of time, but be prepared to drill lots of holes and move around. Lots of pike biting down there, whites too. You can get on at PP or at the resort, no access from where you speak of inlet. That is actually a spillway, under construction. The lake is full of walleye, but they are illusive in the winter. Fishing is better near the resort in the bays, 12-16 feet of water. It is very shallow on the PP side but there are some holes. Last time out I caught a rainbow....that was weird.

Anyway, not to highjack threads...but where is good camping down there, like by Taber in the summer?
