Skyward
Anyone else see the biggest the plane I have ever seen flanked by 6 jet fighters flying in a V formation heading in North West direction yesterday afternoon? Very cool to see, I'm located in southern Ab.

I never saw the big plane but I did see 4 fighter jets coming into the Calgary airport yesterday afternoon as I drove by.

I was camping by Rocky a few years back and looked up in the sky to see two big planes being swarmed by a bunch of smaller ones... turned out to be Air Force One and all the support units heading to Alaska... pretty cool to watch.

It ain't big unless it's an Antonov. I've seen them twice from a distance and the second time it was taking off. Heck of a sight.

The escort planes looked like specs beside the big unit, it was unreal.

Was it early afternoon?
They had a flypast for the start of the CFL western final in Calgary. I know there were a few fighters (the little guys) but I didn't see anything bigger.

It was but I can't see the escort planes leaving the big plane, they where flying in a V formation similar to a flock of geese.

We had a C17 chugging around by Claresholm last year. I looked huge at low level. Wife swore it flew right by our quonset, but I was watching from up the road and it was a mile away. LOL It went North, may have been something going on at the Nanton Bomber Command Museum.

Used to work on the ramp at YVR, loaded/unloaded a few Antonovs, they have some cargo room. Never got to load/unloadthe big 225 Mriya, though I did see it once... interesting beast.
The pilots of those were always hilarious, sometimes they didn't even put the bottles away coming down the stairs... thinking of it now reminds me of the Bert Kreischer "Robbed a Train in Russia" skit.
