Default Fall Fishing Tatics....

Not new to fishing but this is the first year owning a decent boat and wanting to fishing into the fall.

Im actually gonna concentrate on fishing more then hunting going into october i dare say.......

Fish Buck Lake mostly since i have a cabin there.

Should i change up sitting and jigging a minnow. Thats what i have had good luck with since spring sitting on various shelves on the lake.

Mostly targeting walleye and pike...

Any hints out there?

Yeah Fall can be great fishing. Consistent cooling trends are good for the bite. Often are fall weather flips around a lot which can slow things down. You'll still get them to bite good by slowing it right down with a jig and minnow or worm. Try downsizing the jig and holding it very still if nothing is happening. Fish often spread out all over the lake once turn over occurs. If nothing you can sometimes find fish drift fishing on the blustery days with a bottom bouncer and night crawler, minnow or leach. Buck has tons of fish though, should be consistent.

I know ya have a cabin at Buck but Monday morning we had fantastic day fishing for walleye at Pigeon. We were jigging with minnows and green jigs straight out from the main boat launch in about 12-15 fow. It's a great way to spend a morning fishing when you know they will be biting. I recommend anyone that has young kids it's almost a sure thing that they will catch some. It was fun to watch the kids in the boat next to us freakin out when they caught one. Back to the original post-they are definitely biting on minnows and jigs this time of the year. Have fun and good luck.
