Default September Fishing

The Oldman River is turning on. I tried something a little different today. I usually jig with minnow when I'm fishing for walleye in the river. But with all the rock snot coming down river it's tough. I found a bottom bouncer and minnow harness worked good. The weight would catch the rock snot so it wouldn't get on your hook. It took until mid morning and the bite turned on. Lost count how many. Some big goldeye and 3 walleye over 25.5" Biggest was 28 3/4".

It's a green algea that grows all summer on rocks. Then in Aug. it lets go of the rock and floats down the river. Can get thick at times. You can see some in the seacond last pic.
