Anyone build a DIY Electric Fence for garden pests ???
We have a number of hoodlum's that have been destroying our shrubs, flowers & small garden. Did a Google/YTube search and found a few suggestions for a small electric fence to deter critters & garden pests. From one link I found an energizer that operates on "D" batteries on E-Bay that may work.
Has anyone here built a DIY garden variety electric fence ?
If you need to fence for the winter to protect the yard have tall enough posts to accommodate another wire in case the snow gets deep and deer can walk over the fence.
Next year plant some perimeter plants that deer hate and won't walk through. Deer hate walking through several plants because the pollens stick to their legs and affects their ability to smell predators. The are lots listed online.

Yep head to Peavy Mart before UFA (better prices) grab a little fencer and a handful of them push in posts and good to go, they suck for corners though so might have pound in a t-post and pick up a handful of insulators.
I've run a few here from these little ones to the 1500-1800's (the big ones hurt!) we set up a little one to keep a couple pigs IN the garden, so should keep deer out, lol.
Seen a video of a fella that fenced a food plot off to keep em out till it got going, said deer don't have much depth perception, had one wire at 2ft and 6ft in one wire at 3-4ft and kept em out.
Our deer here can jump a 5.1/2ft Paige wire fence from a standstill.
