What limit rules apply to hybrid fish like Saugeye?
Question - if you catch saugeye in the river where you can keep sauger no size limits but walleye over 50 cm what rules apply to it? Can you keep it no matter the size or walleye rules apply?

Not sure which river but where I fish down south it is combined with the walleyes but no size. Be careful on that. F&W were discussing that on a poaching call I made this past weekend.

So if I understand correctly you can keep 3 saugeye, sauger ( no size limits) or walleye over 50 cm combined? Lets say 1 saugeye 48cm, 1 sauger 43cm and one walleye 55cm... or 3 saugeye no matter what size right?

Probably because most people can’t accurately identify a hybrid, heck I’ve talked to guys who have said they’ve shot multiple hybrid deer, the odds of that is astronomical, fish are even harder.
Yah, I like to fish for SaugPike... they look just like a pike but since I'm sure they are hybridized with sauger, I can keep them, without having to abide by the 61 cm pike size-limit. LOL.

Saugeye is quite easy. They will have distinct spots on dorsal fin and sometimes spots on pectoral and abdominal fins.
