Default new to Alberta

Hi there, I am new to the Alberta fishing scene, I've grown up my whole life fishing for salmon and steelhead in BC, but have never been out on the hardwater. I am living in Edmonton and would really appreciate some help in learning how to fish the prairies.

Baitfisher, did you ever find a fishing partner for Tuesday? Where were you thinking of going? Ice fishing or open water?

Default Looking for fishing partner.

I am looking for a fishing partner. Live in Calgary and like to fly-fish lakes from Rocky Mountain House to US border. Have a 12 ft boat and like to troll. Also interested in learning how to Fish the Bow in Calgary and South of Calgary. Available Tuesday thru Friday

I'm up for fishing with new people. I will travel as far south as Calgary (live in Edmonton). I like to fish the eastern slopes. I am most intersted in trout fishing. I fly fish (sort-of) and also shore-cast. Unfortunately have no boat, but do have a portable down rigger (go figure). Would love to fish Cold Lake (but no boat), since lakers are as close to fishing Chinook as I can get here in Alberta (grew up in B.C.). Have lots of gear and plenty of stories. PM me if you want head out.

Also if you need someone to help you find a good spot in B.C. salt water I can help. I have many suggestions.

Getting cabin fever and hope the melt is gone ASAP so I can get out!!

We fished Blood Indian resevoir out of a boat on this Sat from 10:45 to 15:00 we had 6 strikes and landed 4 fish in the 11" to 14" range. There was only 1 other boat on the lake and a dozen or so people fishing off the shore around the lake. Hardly anyone camping either. I was in the Fishin Hole on Fri the board said it was good for fishing and had been stocked on Apr 15th.
