More fake news. I don't dispute that a kitten was found on the lake and animal abuse is not on, but the rest of the story is over the top........it worked on you though

We truly believe this little thing was going to be used for musky bait

I'm aware that rodents are used as bait,” Peters says. “But you have to buy rodents and kittens are given away for free by owners on the internet. It's cheaper than going to a pet store and buying a rodent

Its litter mates were probably drowned already

Thats my old stomping grounds. Back in the early 80’s a local musky fishing sort of legend type was caught and charged using kittens as bait on Lake Nosbonsing. Too bad the link doesn’t work, I’d like to read the article, see if any names I know are mentioned?
Ok googled it as mentioned. So a sick frozen cat is found and someone “assumes” it was going to be used as bait? One could assume it was feral and nested in an ice hut stored over summer and crawled out once the hut was towed out which would be much more plausible.

did you actually read the article? kitten was found on lake, busted up badly, some woman went and picked it up, took to vet, died on way, vet bill of $650, she dreamed up all these senarios of what happened to kitten, got others to pay bill, from a go fund me . kitten likely hitched a ride on a truck or ice shack and ended up on lake. overactive imagination in my opinion.
