It's nice to see classy respectful pictures , there are definitely some people who don't take as much care when taking their photos, and at the end of the day we don't need to be giving the anti's another reason to fill their diaper.

Myself, if the pictures are for personal use do what you want they are fo you and your friends. Make memories as you see fit.
If the pictures are going to be shared publicly or are in a professional setting (guide service). Show some respect leave the vehicals out of the picture. Clean up the animal and don't have any goofy posses.
Just my 2 cents.

I've been thinking of going for a spring bear this year. I've never tried before so a little bit of a learning curve. Good thing there is this wonderful forum with helpful people sharing their wisdom and experiences.
I have my spot picked out and just sourcing a barrel and bait at the moment.
I'm also hoping to take it with the bow which would also be my first big game animal with the bow. I might even try to get some footage so a lot of firsts all at once.
Good luck to everyone for their spring bear!

Great Pictures and Thread!! I would love to go for a spring bear. I will be spending my spring and summer around Athabasca this year. I hear the bear population is quite good up there. Are there any members from around there that could give me a few pointers? I dont really want to hire a guide, but would like to find a hunting partner that knows the area up there. If anyones interested in helping a guy out, please PM me.

I'm heading out this spring to hopefully get my first bear, preferably with my bow. Any idea on what a good taxidermist charges for a bear rug?
I'm not looking for a monster, but anything over 300 lbs is probably a shooter for me this year.

300lbs is a good bear for spring. Good luck. Bait hard and spot and stalk hard waiting for hits. Once hit, sit from 3pm to dark. No moving in stand. They are not stupid.

Loaded for Bear thanks to L.O.S.T Arrow.
Hi everyone. I would just like to say I am definitely ready for spring bear season and its all due to Neil at L.O.S.T arrow. Couple weeks back I dropped off my bow with him because I was not happy with the factory performance. Neil took the time to sit down with me (I am a beginner) and we discussed what problems I was having and what improvements I wanted to make.
I then took off for a weeks Vacation to Mexico, upon returning my bow was ready to go and let me tell you Neil has my PSE smokin, and accurate! What an improvement, it was like a total different bow! It is amazing what knowledge and experience can do! Then after 150 shots Neil took the bow back and re-tuned everything after the changes had "settled".
Thank you Neil for your patience in dealing with a newbe to archery, I know that if I have the opportunity in front of me I will be able to execute and hopefully take my first bear with a bow.
If anybody wants to make improvements to their current setup give Neil a shout!

Nice looking rig you have there, and I have never heard anything but great things about Neil's customer service.
You also might be in the running for "best 1st post ever!"

So do you guys keep the meat from a spring bear? Yes, no, depends? I am going to try and get out this spring for some scouting at least, if I run into a bear, I will have a tag ready!

Don't shoot a bear if your not going to eat it or find someone who's going to eat it, doesn't do a lot for our cause if we waste edible meat, and done properly bear is quite tasty

Did most of my bear hunting in the late "80's. Ended up with a total of 9 bears, including 3 P & Y 'ers. This pic was taken the last day of the season and I had gone to this site just to get rid of the last of the bait. There was already 4 bears on the bait and 2 more came to the source....my truck. I ended up shooting one just to claim my truck back....

I live just outside Edmonton... anyways thanks in advance and if not that's ok too
