Default Sturgeon fishing around Bow Island

Working in Bow Island and been told there's good sturgeon fishing in the South Saskatchewan River. Can anyone suggest locations/spots where I can find sturgeon and what bait to use? My gear is heavy enough to cope with large sturgeon and this is the rig I'm using.

Thanks

It's been a tough year for sturgeon on the S.S.R. With the water levels low and the water temp. up. The fish are in the deepest holes and there not hungry. I know I don't have much of an appetite when it's hot out, same with the fish.

I am assuming it has something to do with that not being your picture. I don't see what's wrong with you posting it though, nice to know there won't be p-rigs laying in the bottom of the river. Actually found 3 in a single hole on the MSR two days ago. On the plus side I did find a sliding sinker to use when I finally decide to go after sturgeon.

He is saying that the rig you posted is your best option. And he better get out of the thread because he likes to rant about people using the wrong setups lol.

Going next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gonna stay on the river and do some fishing and scouting. Hopefully they are hitting as it's been a bit slower everywhere with low water and high temps... Was out last week and picked up a few. River is WAY low so lots of fun in the boat. Jokes...

The river has been fun to run. It's been easy scaring my buddies.
