Default Quebec Election Results

Pauline Marois is in.

Still waiting to hear if it's a majority or not.

Here we go. With any luck, they'll be a sovereign nation in 1,000 days :P

Good news...it is time to kick the re-headed step child out the back door and tell them to survive on their own, as to the Anglos there, you can always move.....

Don't know about that, this will play into Mulcairs hand, the broad won't have the guts to call a referndum until the next Federal election is looming, then that idiot Mulcair will ride in as "the savior of Canada as we know it".....and the morons will vote with the pencil in one hand, and the other hand out for more....

Maybe its time to not let them have a choice and anex northern Quebec and give them a little piece along the river and say last chance, take it or leave it....if they choose not to take it, then we shoulnt have to have French as a second language in our country, and not put frog on everything......just a thought

IMO, who really cares!!!!!

I'm tired of transfer payments going to Quebec from western Canada. If you want to leave, just go. USA probably dont want you....except for your minerals and water. Too far to be part of the EU.

thinking he will have more than the last bunch of PM's that pandered to them. Remember he won a majority without Quebec, when they all said it couldn't be done....well?....sayonara, don't let the door hit you in the a**

At this point, it's not going to be a majority. And with two federalist parties filling out all but two of the remaining seats, Marois is not going to get the support she needs for another neverendum. So don't start partying yet.

Well, come on; they're *politicians.* But PQ BS is different. In some ways, Charest bent over backwards to keep the Quebec-Ottawa relationship productive. Marois will likely be a lot more confrontational. Or at least, publicly so. Behind the scenes might be different. I think that we can call it and say that Jean Charest went down in flames, seeing as he's currently trailing the PQ candidate in his riding by over 1,700 votes. That might change the tone in a big way, as he's been the flashpoint for this province's anger for months.

The fact that a party whut didn't even exist a year ago got 21 seats. People in this province are tired to death of the same old same old. But not tired enough to kick out the two old parties, it seems.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.

I suggest that Harper start moving all the federal valuables that aren't bolted down into the Canadian provinces that actually play for the team, starting with every last piece of military equipment, right down to the last paper clip and light bulb.

I think a scorched earth policy would also be the way to go with everything the tax payers built.

Separation is an all time low in Quebec and an all time high elsewhere. I remember in 95' everyone being so concerned about them leaving. They won't leave and I don't want them too, but I love to call their bluff.

I always suggested moving the Newfoundlanders into Quebec and the quebecers to Newfoundland that wanted their own country.

Anyone know how much explosives it would make to sink that island after all's said and done?

Minority's are good! It means they'll be ineffective in begging, borrowing, and figuring out how to get themselves out of the slump they find themselves in. They'll just keep digging that hole deeper and deeper

Well, i'm kind of disappointed she never got her majority. Would have been fun to see Marois running hell bent making changes and barking at the rest of Canada.

Oh well, we shall see what transpires.

no it doesn't mean that.

does posting an absurd analogy discount my point or strengthen it?

perhaps you are avoiding responding to it directly because it rings true

Default What are you guys smoking?

Lets get some facts straight.

31.9% voted for the PQ

31.2% voted for the PLQ (federalist)

27.1% voted for the CAQ (statu quo)

Which mean 58% are not interested in seperation.

Last poll for sovereignty: 28% are in favor.

So, alot of you bash quebecers without knowing the complex history of this province. People are getting tired of the subject.

The reasons the PLQ losts:

1) The CAQ which took some votes (tired of the same)
2) Corruption charges, bad press, student crysis, credibility...

There are some fundamental problems here,

40% of people don't effectively pay tax.

36% work in the public domain.

PQ gets most votes from low income and public sector (read: unions) workers.

Workers in the private sector in Quebec are excellent. In fact, it's what keeps thing going (for how long?).

There is no question the PQ is bad for Quebec because nothing will get fixed and most probably more will get #@$%@ed up. However, don't bash all quebecers. We are as sick as the rest of Canada.

The hardcore separatist will dieoff (die already). I don't understand this nasty hatred for us. Have you ever visited Quebec? We aren't azz*oles (well at least 58% of us).
