Default This Years Tags Different From Last Years

On another thread one member commented that this years tags look lighter then last years. I picked up some tags yesterday at Cabbellas and I thought they looked different also. Tag on the left is last years and tag on right is this years. This years tags are a different shade of green. They also have a "plu" or "sku" number highlighted in white, and the tag No. is also highlighted in white.
New tags I recieved in mail this year are still the same as last years. I wonder if some outlets have new ones while other outlets still using up old batch, and I also hope that the ones I recieved in mail this year will work.

I pick pick tags at the F & W office in GP this Week. I was told they are giving out tags tags they still have from last year and that this year's are the same. The very helpful lady workin the desk told me there would be specific announcements if they were being changed.

What's the difference as long as the tag number matches the number on the license.

I have an extra tag from last year that I never attached to a license. Does that mean I can use it for a license this year if the distributors are still giving out tags from last year?

Thanks
