Well I guess it must be a case of natural licks being far less common in the topography that I spent most of my life hunting?Perhaps they are far more common in AB then what I'm accustomed to.
Again, benefit of doubt and apologies, but while I'm well aware that licks occur naturally, I've "usually" associated the term "licks" with artificial blocks for the most part.
....and fwiw, judging by your elk photo selfie,I've been hunting since long before you were born Junior, but thx for the Alberta geography lesson.

Assuming and giving benefit of doubt that you meant the natural mineral lick that you found oozing from the ground, and NOT a block that you most assuredly placed for trailcam scouting purposes only?
well you are that guy!! wow

Tenderloins. Got em though.

Small elk, it was tough getting rib meat. But I was impressed with how easily it "disassembled"

I used a 6" filleting knife for the whole shebang.

Must be a glitch, as I am using my phone to look at the forum.
But the picture that albertadeer posted is the same as your profile picture. Just a glitch in thinking?

I'm gonna be that guy and call you out and ask what would you have done if it was a salt block? Would you have reported him, or just wanted to be an internet tough guy and try to point all the mistakes a guy makes?
Just these type of nuisance replies is why people shy to post. Guys like you think your an online Game Warden or something? What's the point of needing that clarification really in the end?

Nice elk BTW to the OP, please keep contributing cause 90% of the rest of us here do like to see this stuff without trying to tear apart one's contribution with the stupidest remarks...

Congrats, nice elk. Awesome when it all comes together. I hope to close a tag on my first elk this year. Pulled a long priority for outside of Suffield. I truly have the elk bug, I find myself looking at pics, mounts in the hunting stores etc.

Perhaps it's the way my brain was (not?)working yesterday, having just previously read the topic on illegal baiting and several similar topics in recent weeks still fresh on my mind....who knows.
Secondly,I'm pretty sure I explained myself AND apologized in the very post that you just quoted.
3rd...Online Game Warden...LMFAO....that's a good one buddy.
Letcha in on a lil secret....I ain't no fn rat in any way, shape or form, generally mind my own biz,and deal out my own brand of justice when I'm wronged, and I'm about as far removed from being a cop or LEO of any kind as possible without actually being in prison, but thx for calling me out tough guy.
