Default Need help with a WT buck...

I really love the look of this guy. Its been 3 years so its personal. Early season he hangs with 4 bucks. All decent but he is best. Is he worth the headache and if so how far could he go from mid august thru hunting season? Its on my buddies land and he doesnt hunt. He leases the surrounding land but have sole hunting rights. Please help.

Hunting any particular animal shouldn't be a headache. You love the bucks look and it has become personal. Sounds like you answered yourself. As long as there is food, cover and no predators the animal should stick around within a mile.

I can tell others that. Maybe just needed that reminder for myself. Thanks for words of wisdom. It really is a one in a lifetime due to our history. Cheers.

Does he look an old deer? He could be bigger next year if he makes it. I've said next year a few times to have them not make it to next year though.

if you want to pursue him than set cameras up where you think he might hang out. Check them once every week. Same way in/out and dont go trudging around as he might leave the pressure area. Glassing from distance. Find water/food for early season. Set up at transition areas in low areas or covered areas and good luck. Rut time or pre rut time be ready to rattle etc in and around his stomping grounds and enjoy the hunt for this beauty buck. Also change it up and dont become predictable in your pursuet.

That's a pretty good deer for sure. Personally, if he is the best you're getting on the cam, then I'd concentrate on him. Wait a bit before a definite decision. You never know when his granddaddy may show up. Especially during hunting season. Give yourself a time frame. It's always hard making that decision, whether to eat a tag or use it.

once he sheds velvet and breaks up with his buddys, he may locate miles away.
hopefully not but its quite common.

It's a 150" deer with no velvet. Has no brow tines. If ya got daylight pics more than twice then hunt him everyday in opening season if it permits. Hopefully he shows up in the evening before the weeks done. Chances are he's too early on the morning but evening you could catch him last light. If you can afford to leave it go then great. If not I'd be setting more cams to verify every exit to find the best ambush. As the days go by we're losing light remember
Hunt every day in September and you'll get him. Come middle October then he'll disapear. Then your strategy changes. Good luck!

Default 150 class?

Maybe, will have to harvest this guy to know the real tape. Heres to hoping.
Thanks to all who are giving tips, WT bucks are pretty clever and nocturnal come opener.
He does have 1 decent brow tine. Cant find the front on pic I have, passed the ears a ways prob mid 20's inside spread. Just a guess. Don't slam me too hard ; )
