Kindle in Canada?
Anyone know if or how to get kindle e books in Canada? I have an amazon prime account but even though advertised on amazon prime canada, I can’t seem to buy any of the kindle ebooks I want. I keep getting sent to the USA site and told that I don’t have an account there.
Going on a trip and was looking to load up a couple books.
Thanks all,

If you want to buy a kindle online from Amazon your only option is to buy it and import it from the US site.
Check BestBuy.

If you are just talking about the ebooks, then use the store on the Kindle to purchase stuff. I find that trying to do it via the computer is a mess and the books just transfer to your kindle automatically over the internet anyways.

I have a Canadian source kindle (paperwhite) and buy books off the Canadian amazon app on my phone which are immediately pushed to my kindle.

So that’s my problem
I’ve been trying to get the books on my iPad and on my laptop. Sounds like I’ll have to buy a kindle reader first because I’m in canada?
Kinda sucks if that’s the problem.. just bought the ipad. So that I could read stuff.

There are lots of ebook vendors besides Kindle. Google Ipad ebooks, there are even a whole bunch that have free books.

We had similar issues with Kindle. The solution that works for us is to join the Calgary Library (free) and use overdrive and our iPad. Lots of free ebooks there. Admittedly for new additions etc. we have to wait in line, but not really an issue for us.

There’s a Kindle app in the App Store, it will download any kindle edition books you buy on amazon.

Other sites
Ya I looked at a few other sites. So far way more expensive or nothing I’m interested in buying. I haven’t found any free sites that offer anything of interest yet either but still looking.
Thanks again

What are you smoking? I have bought several Kindles through Amazon Canada and get books through the same all the time, since 2012 or 2013ish I think.

I DL them all the time from Amazon.ca and I don't have a Kindle reader. It downloads to my tablet. I don't have a prime account either so it often costs me .99 but works fine.
If you don't get an answer here that works let me know and I will go into my account and see how it is set up.

I usually buy my ebooks for kindle on Amazon.ca with no problems. I also use Bookbub for titles not available on Amazon and for better pricing in many cases.

Nice thing is that you can read Kindle and other ebooks on your kindle, phone, computer or ipad style device. They also sync (if you're set up) so you can switch devices and not lose your place. The apps are free.

Figured it out!!!
The problem was that our canadian amazon account was set up with a connection to amazon.com when my wife's self-published book was on sale on amazon. So every time I tried to buy a book with that account it automatically defaulted to the american website which told me I didn’t have a US account so I couldn’t buy the book. New account, no problem
