Default Trout pond favourites.

If you could only use one bait or lure to fish stocked trout ponds, what would that be? Personnally, my go to method would be pink powerbait on a lindy rig.

Len Thompson, second smallest size, 5oD or orange and white.

In the winter, half a crawler on a #8 bait holder.

Actually I used my tenkara rod with a wool indicator sz 18 treble and a small piece of worm or egg yesterday and as long is they are close enough to shore and it's not too windy it's tonnes of fun.

I am more of a fan of the visual feel back of an indicator or bobber than fishing off bottom.

Royal coachman or Doc Spratley fly with a size 10 hook 6 to 7 feet behind a tapered float, with 4 to 6 lb. mono line on an ultralight spinning rod. Cast and retrieve slow enough that the float doesn't leave a wake. Or casting a 2 inch trout colored rapala on an ultralight.

Default Trout pond favorites

The smallest Len Thompson, orange with red spots, is my favorite rainbow and brookie spoon too.

Mepps black fury undressed. Fast retrieve. Hang on they hit them hard. No bait. Or the Rapala rainbow as previously mentioned. They hit those hard too.

When I want a peaceful afternoon, orange powerbait on a slip bobber rig. Panther Martin Deluxe Fly silver/orange when I want to troll/cast.
