Just got back from Cancun and really enjoyed the fishing. I tried for a big blue sail fish but it was the other boat that landed this beauty. We had one hit but no luck. It doesn't matter as it is just as fun to see someone else have success - especially when it was a father and son group.
Great trip all in all and now its time to find the great canadian monsters!
We used El Cid Marina out of Puerto Morelos near Playa del carmin. Service was good and the crew busted their butts to make sure we caught fish. I was a 'walk on' rather than a group reservation so I only payed $135 for 4 hours. As luck had it, I was the only guy in a 35' boat with 2 crew members. The people I went with rented the other boat for 6 hrs - they had 3 people and a bigger boat.
The service and equipment were both very good.
