Question Cals Fishing Flies

I found a guy that sells flies out of the Edmonton area, i haven't tried any of his flies yet but i checked out his website http://www.calsfishingflies.weebly.com and they look pretty good, i was just wondering if anybody has tried any of his flies and what you think about them.

i dont think they are that great. i tie my own as well and there are quite a few there that if i tied them they would go into my "rejected box" to be cleaned off and re tied.

there are a couple ther that look interesting tho.

I'm sure they'll catch fish just fine . . . but they're not very "polished." They'd have to be dirt cheap (and I'd have to be pretty desperate) to buy any.

Ive got high standards for tying flies, and if I where to tie one of those I would probably re-do it, not trying to be a arss but they aren't up to my "fly standards". Kudos for him though on putting up his own site and stuff.

It kind of looks like he uses barbless hooks to tie (maybe just angle of pics??). One less hassle anyway

Some of the flies I have used are so beat up, thread is starting unravel, but still catch fish. They may not be "perfect" flies, but ina pinch, why not?

I think he really needs more practice, the quality is definitley not there at all, I sell flys but mine are the best of quality and I always make sure of that.

Also says he has been creating flys for 10 years now...no offense but it looks like hes been creating them for 10 days.

i believe you have caught some fish with them, but if you want to sell them, you are gonna needa bit more practice. dont lose hope, just keep trying and you will be successful. good luck with your endeavor.

uhh, nice try.. but those aren't my flies, i appreciate the encouragement and all but you're telling it to the wrong person. i haven't been tying long enough to sell any of my flies, not to mention that i am still in highschool and i dont have the time to tie any decent amount of them.

Anyway, i have found out that BBJ sells flies so i'll probly end up buying from him, thanks for the input guys.

Thumbs down i cant believe some people

I never realized how little respect people have for each other until i went to buy some flies from this guy, and saw under his comments page that some one said "he really needs to stop" selling his flies because they aren't up to his standards. I can understand telling the guy that he needs to improve a little bit; but out right telling someone to stop what they are doing? you just dont do that.

Then i realized that this forum is basically people arguing like a bunch of fifth graders, whether it is about a way that they fish or whether or not you should tell someone about a certain lake. I know i haven't been a member of the forum very long, but it seems that some of you guys are missing the point of this forum.

I am sorry to all of the decent people who are reading this rant, i know that there are alot of you out there. However, the few seem to over power the majority in this case, and i have decided that i am done with this forum.

Honesty is one thing, being an all out jack***** is another thing, I applaud him for trying to show his skill, even if it doesn't live up to the standards of certain people in this forum.....Honestly, I'd use his flies over anything I've tied any day.
