Question Are trout friendly?

I caught this Goldeye in a nice pocket in a central alberta river. I was happy to see it emerge from the darkness and grab my wet fly. My question is would trout and goldeye hold in the same hole or would one drive the other out? This particular drop off was about 10 meters long and maybe 3 meters deep. goldeye.jpg

I don't know if trout are friendly or not, but that's one surprised looking goldeye!

What rod/reel combo is that? It looks like something my dad would have built. Well, the rod at least.

I was floating down the red deer river today and caught, goldeye, trout, goldeye in about a hundred foot stretch so the won't push them to far at least.

Bull trout aren't friendly.

It's a six weight Fenwick with an old intrepid rimfly reel.

A few years back now my Dad gave me the first rod he ever built. This is going back 35 years or more that he built it. It's a fiberglass Fenwick Woodstream, 102"-6w-5p. He started building his own because all the grips were to small. He was used to holding a hammer and the grips felt uncomfortable to him.
I've been offered over $3000 for just the rod but I can't sell it.

Anyway nice fish.
