Default Bow River Raps

Hey Guys just curious what you guys use fo sizes when chucking the rapala countdowns on the Bow. I thought CD09's were perfect but now I am starting to think I should be chucking more of my cd07's at times and maybe pick up some cd-5s..... especially when I fish the NW....

Thoughts?

I use Husky Jerk 10s, 12s, and 14s. Silver and Black works really well.

I don't use countdowns anymore, I lost probably atleast $100 worth of them over the years. I've been using the original floaters now for the past couple of years with good success and various sizes in the brown trout pattern and rainbow trout pattern. The larger one you use the bigger the fish, just don't go too big.

Anything up to 10cm should work just fine. If you want to spend a little less i;d recommend bomber long A in 9cm size(you can also find suspending version on internet), there is also Daiwa Dr. Minnow(basspro), storm thundersticks...if you like spending a little more look into Lucky Craft(pointer) and Megabass(ITO vision 95) these are superb lures with some amazing action.

As for the "colors" anything works it's only up to your preference, but for clear water definitely use realistic decor.

I'd pick something that goes a bit deeper and has more stability, x-rap in Bow river currents doesn't really hold up that well.

For you people that snag so much, try getting a really sensitive rod, in other words something with fast action, or x-fast(for $80-120 you can find a killer rod that will serve you for years to come) medium light power. Also longer rods (salmon/steelhead series) are a big plus when fishing a river such as Bow. Since it is mostly very shallow and full of snags, that extra foot or two will help you manage your line a lot better(keeping it of the rocky bottom) when making a long distance hookset or fishing deeper waters. Short rods are for small creeks and boat fishing....

These work very well, don't ask...

These guys are deserving of their name "kill-er"

And this is how it looks after a good season and a giant brown trout that i didn't manage to pull out, however he went ninja on this one...
Don't know why but this "decor" caught me more fish then almost all of my lure box combined!
