Default My day at Jackfish Lake

Hey everyone!
I was out at Jackfish by stony plain yesterday. It was a beautiful day for the most part until around 3 when it started to rain . Fished the shorelines of the island since we weren't getting action anywhere else. It was a slow day i caught 2 pike and my buddy caught a pike and a burbot. Had a HUMONGOUS pike follow my spinnerbait up to the boat where he proceeded to grab it but as i tried to set the hook he spit it out i almost cried. that pike was easily 10lbs! Never caught a burbot before so i was pretty exited for my freind, Boy do they fight!!! that thing was determined not to get in the boat and it succeeded. About 1 foot from the boat it exploded out of the water and shook the hook. Amazing acrobatics but it sucked when it spit the hook! It was funny though because it was caught a jig tipped with twizzler! Anyway we had alot of fun!
