Default Chain lakes ice?

Any one know how thick/condition the ice is at chain lakes ?

It was about 7" yesterday with some soft spots on top but good to go. Lots of people fishing. I didnt even have a bite all day and same with the other guy I talked to.

Chain is going to be slow this year they didn't stock near as many due to hatchery maintenance. If you wanna keep the kids entertained fish 1" off the bottom near the dam and you can still get lots of suckers.

I got 1 trout last weekend. 5 inches of ice with lots of water and snow on top

We were at chain Lakes yesterday. The ice was 6-7 inches thick with lots of slush on top. Fishing was fair - we landed 4 trout and lots of suckers. Most of the trout were likely from the recent stocking as they were quite small (8-10 inches).
