Fishing in and around edmonton

I am coming back to Edmonton for the next little while and my brother wants to go fishing in the area. I have never fished in the Edmonton area so i have no idea where a good place to go would be. I heard this is the best site to go to for fishing info! dose anyone have any suggestions?

There are lots of good places to go , just depends on what species you want to fish for .

Pigeon Lake, Wizard LAke, NS river,Wabamun lake and Numerous trout stocked ponds & lakes

The river is fishing good in Edmonton, Was down there this morning and caught 8 nice goldeye in less than 1.5 hours, just down from Rossdale power plant, Hasse and star is popular for rainbow trout, though Hasse has yellow perch as well. Spring is one of my faves, the rainbow trout have made a great comeback, after the 2006 winterkill, but the perch are still there, though they get up to 12.5". Good luck
