Default Bow trip April 1 and 2nd near Caresland anyone wanna join me?

Myself and two buddies are coming down from Edmonton to fish the bow for those two days, most likely.

I am fairly familiar with that part of the river, though by no means an expert, i just seem to get lucky and catch nice fish there every time.

If anyone from the forum wants to join us, share a line and or a laugh (er beer), it would be welcome.

Default 24 Bridge to weir

I was thinking of heading down there myself if it ever stops snowing ...

What is the estimated distance from the bridge up to the weir ...

and from the bridge to the reserve ....I have heard all these big brown

stories for years , so I thought I would check it out ...

I'm gonna be hotelling it. Most likely will stay in some place like Strathmore. Gonna fish down stream from the bridge. Yeah, I know it is closed upstream.

There are big brownies down there.

Hopefully the weather co-operates.

Two years ago I had the same idea, but Calgary got a massive, rain/wet snow storm, which made the river 100% unfishable.

With the water low, it should b doable to wade and walk quite far downstream from the bridge and fish some good runs.

I know.

I'm probably screwed.

Would you believe that I was snowed out of a beautifully planned trip on the with the same friend two years ago?

Oh well, I'll come down some time in May as the lakes around Edmonton won't be open until sometime around Father's day . . . 2010!

hahaha

These global warming winters are just bizarre.
You get mild weather From mid-Jan. to the end of February and then when it is supposed to turn to spring, wham!
