Not sure about the ice thickness but I have seen/known cross lake to have springs. It is probably the 14-18 inches of ice that most lakes have now but if there are springs like I believe there are there would be dangerous spots on the lake.

People have been driving on quite a few lakes this winter and some of them have sketchy ice conditions right now. One lake recently fished with no springs only had 13 inches in spots, others have lots of floodwater etc. People should be very careful about driving on right now, this is not your typical winter for ice conditions.

I was there on monday. Approx 24 inches of clear hard ice. Pike every where. Lots of small perch. Perch wouldn't bite anything.
