Default Home made wire worms I made

I saw Zip-in-Z made some wire worms and figured I would try it myself. Here are my creations so far.

I can testify that Kims wire worms produce. I was there when he caught a perch with one of his nice creations. I on the other hand haven't had much luck with perch this year.

Those look great ...... any opinions on where the bead should be positioned or why? I have seen them toward the hook and toward the eye but haven't seen any beads in the middle ..... just curious on some opinions

Any beads on hooks, I have had better luck with them at the hook end. Most of the time Whites will hit the bead. Nothing worse than a White coming in and it hits the wrong end of the hook and no way to set it. When you have been waiting to see one for a few hrs, it finaly shows up and you didn't catch it ! JMO.

i did those ones in the middle just as something different, i have hooks made with them all over the shank that i switch out. these ones seem to draw in bigger ones for some reason.

also my hook point is buried, but the bead and hook points line up essentially.

gonna make some more realistic ones with thread and uv glue, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

yeah it's hit or miss for me, some days they go after it at the hook, some days it produced better near the head. that's why i make them with the bead at both ends lol.

Nice worms! Anyone ever add legs, antennae, tails? I'm wondering how just crazy glueing butt ends of fibers or thread to the body would work for that.

Would have to rap them under the wire or thread, just like fly tying I think. Then a little bit of glue.

You may be right... I was just looking to simplify the process. It'll take some testing I guess.
