Default Master angler perch

Caught this 13" pig in sylvan lake last night, fishing 15 feet of water on a drop shot rig with a 3" zman paddle tail.

Thanks guys. Yeah zip I'd imagine if she was pre spawn she would been pushing that 2 pound mark. At least I like to think so

Alberta's record perch came from Sylvan lake in the 60's. Not sure if the record holds but it was well over 2 lbs.

Nice perch! I live 25 minutes south of Lake Simcoe here in S. Ontario. Ground zero for perch. Lots of them, and some tanks too! One of my favourite fish to target, and darn tasty too.

Yeah, that record is crazy. It was topped sometime in the 80's I believe but I do not recall exactly what lake it was in. Would like to add that she swam away very happily after a brief picture and measurement.

To be honest moose, it was pretty lucky. We had seen some monster perch in that area while icefishing so we figured we'd try for them and maybe hook into a couple walleyes before the night was over.

nice fish, I'm happy to see a few big ones still around. While ice fishing last season. I had a bunch of little ones swimming around then suddenly a big one like that swam by. For me the perch fishing has not been good for the last 5-6 years at Sylvan.

Went back out today and caught another big one. 12 1/2! Looks like the big perch population is on the rebound
