Default Bear Report

Had a friend who wanted to take his son bear hunting and was wondering if I could help out. I had 3 days off before I head out of country for a few months so after asking AO about road conditions I figured I would try my best. I appreciate the info about the roads I received from fellow members.

Made some venison and grouse skewers for camp after work and we set out from Calgary at 5pm Thurs, got to the spot at 22:00 and set up camp in the pouring rain. Rained all night all morning, sighted in our guns and started the hunt. Earlier than I like to be there but given my travel plans had no choice.

Rained heavy and not much green. still snow in places. Roads were rough but if you take your time passable.

Spotted the bear Fri at 20:00 at 300 yards. We stalked up to 145 yards and his 17 year old son pulled the trigger. Skinned out and had supper and was back on the road Fri at 22:00. Was unloaded and tucked in bed by 6am today. Not bad for a 36hr hunt.

Was happy to help out a young hunter connect. Now off to the car wash!

These kind of posts motivate us all to turn off Netflix and hit the woods. Well done.

Lol. Didn't get it at the cut block, but loved the vantage point!
