Default Elk or Deer?

This hoof seemed too big to be deer.

Was just the legbone. Knee down. Wolves must have taken it down.
This was McLean creek too. For all those who say there's no elk.

Looks pretty pointed, possibly a young moose?

You and I both know there's no Elk out there...

Moose

Elk

I'd say you found a young moose calf leg... Look how the fleshy part underneath carries on towards the tip of the hoof.

I would agree. Way to pointy for an elk hoove.

I would say it's not an elk, too narrow. I would have initially said big deer, but I'm no tracker, based on all the tags hanging on my Xmas tree.

I was out in Mclean yesterday and found a good chunk of what I thought was deer. Damn wolves!
