Default Vortex Pro staffer interview

Ladies and gents, the latest Highlander Hunting Podcast is up for free download.
Episode 7, "Behind the Glass"

We sat down with a Vortex Optics pro staffer and discussed all things optics. Jason from Vortex has a passion for the outdoors and has worked as a guide here in Alberta. His love of the hunt has taken him down to the US and he recently got back from a New Zealand trip that sounded amazing.

I though he did a great job of presenting technical details of optics while being mostly neutral. Its not a Vortex commercial!

As usual, you can search us on iTunes or Google play or click the link:

Default Thanks Guys

Haters gonna Hate.

thanks for bringing someone in with real knowledge and expertise.

in episode 6, Mike mentioned a website to calculate the amount of recoil with specific detail.

could you guys please post a link to it?

Each podcast gets better and better, for someone brand new into the world of shooting/hunting and backcountry exploring this plethora of information could not have come at a better time.

Thanks fellas

Default Recoil

Thanks Ruben!
Website is http://www.shooterscalculator.com/recoil-calculator.php

It has a spot there for gunpowder amount, if you don't have any reloading manuals let me know and I'll get that info for me. Just let me know what you're shooting.

Default Part 2, rifle scopes

We're releasing part 2 of the optics interview this week.

Jason from Vortex talks about the key things everyone should know about rifle scopes. Great info for newer shooters as well as more advanced shooters.

cheers

I've enjoyed most of the podcasts so far, and think posting them here is a good way to get new listeners and alert people about topics they might be interested in. The idea that you need to sponsor a message board in order to offer free resources or information to users is pretty backwards. The fact that you are participating in the board itself adds value/content for users.

Good work so far guys.

Good work so far guys.
A sponsorship is required when the poster or a third party is reaping a personal benefit from the information provided. Free resources with no personal benefit to the poster or third party is permitted.

Myself and Mike decided to do our own podcast for a few reasons. Mostly because we listen to lots of them and we talk hunting A LOT. Just ask our families!

We've really appreciated the exposure from this forum, and try to only add value, and keep it positive. So far, people seem to like the info we've put out there.

Also, we're always open to suggestions for topics.

Still waiting for some hate mail too.

Cheers.

Haven't found an episode I didn't enjoy. Good stuff with good info for new and old outdoorsman. That and I'm a gear head so I'll listen to anything about outdoor gear.
