Default Optics- What are you carrying?

Just curious what guys (and girls) are carrying for optics while hunting and for what species.

For example I carry my Vortex 10x50's all the time, for all species. But most country I hunt you can see pretty far. So if I was in really thick bush, I'd probably carry something lighter.

This year, I'll be using my bino's off a tripod as much as possible.

10x50 vortex vipers. Leopold 1000tbr range finder. If in real tight bush I can use the range finder as it is a zoomed unit. I love my 10x50s and would not trade them in for anything else.

yes I am. Given certain conditions or in a pure spot and stock hunt I would like to carry a tripod but have not done so yet. I dont find a large issue as is.

I'm rocking 10x42 Vortexs on a Vortex tripod. Vortex Ranger 1500 for ranging and if I need to really see what is going on I swap out my nockers for the spotter

Zeiss 10x40T. Old but light enough and clear enough for my failing eyes.

Not necessarily the question you asked but I picked up a couple of nice bino pouches from Hornady in the US. Better priced that some of the stuff you see in stores around here - lots of extra ammo storage too

Yeah, Vortex makes good stuff in my opinion, that's what I use. But my podcast partner likes Swiro spotter, and binos with range finder built in.

A good bino carrying system is worth getting. I use a Mystery Ranch harness from Jimbo's.

Either Leica 8x32 Ultravids or Zeiss 8x42 Conquest HD binos.

Im carrying the Vortex Viper 10x42 in an Alaskan Guide Creations Cub Max and love it. My scopes for the 30-06 and 22 are both entry level vortex but theyre great too. Hard to beat that warranty!

Loving the podcast too guys! Keep up the great work!

Not seeing swaro on peoples list as much as I expected.
They make great products.

We're releasing episode #7 of our Alberta Backcountry hunting podcast tomorrow. We interview a local guy who's a Vortex prostaff.
We chat all about optics, not specfically Vortex.

Cheers
John

Zeiss Victory T* 10x50 rangefinders. On the heavy/bulky side, but great glass nonetheless.

I had a pair of Zeiss Victory RF 10x45's but traded them in for a nice compact set of Zeiss Victory FL 8x32's. These are way more compact and the glass is surprisingly brighter than the bigger RF's during the day. The 8x32's get incredible reviews but are very hard to find in Canada.

This is what I have always wondered. Do you carry a pocket rangefinder then?
