It's hit and miss with wild boar, they aren't anywhere, there are a few around, I've never seen one while hunting, but I have seen 3 of them while driving, there is a bounty of $50 for a set of ears, but if you read the laws, only the landowner is allowed to shoot them, so unless they are on your property you're SOL!

The only time I have seen them is in 1992 north of Hine's Creek ... Got 3 with 2 shot's ... smoked one in the head and the one behind got it in the boiler room ... good eatin ... but if you go there today you probably got a better chance of seeing a squawsnatch or a unicorn ...

I think the bounty on wild boar's has been dis-continued everywhere in AB. I think you mean only the landowner could claim the bounty. Anyone is allowed to shoot them, if it is done legally.

You're probably right, it's been over a year since I read up on it.

ACA website has a good article about wild boars and why the bounty program has been cancelled.

Or that could be spelt incorrectly. If its a sow, is it still called Wild Boar ? Are they really wild, or are they feral ?

After a few tequila, they get a bit wild.
