If I'm not mistaken, there used to be a little pond somewhere along Hwy 517 (I think that's the right hwy #).

Anyways, the road that goes from Hwy 22 to the Forestry Trunk road (hwy 40), the intersection is North of Racehorse and just South of Dutch. It was a little beaver dam type pond just off the road before you got to the Gap (heading west), or just after the Gap (heading east).

I'm not sure if it was called 'Gap Lake' or not, but it was around before that massive flood 12-15 years ago. Then the flood wiped it out. That's only, or was the only 'lake' around there that I can think of. But like I said, its not there anymore, and it may not even be the lake you're talking about.

went up to this lake 4 years ago. 4 kms hike or quad. When I was there I was glad to be walking the trail was chewed up pretty bad and I am sure that quads were haveing a hard time. Lots of muskeg I packed in my tube and fished all day with no luck. No risers nothing I ran into a father and son that had spent 4 days out there and caught 2 trout.

The Gap lake on the North Fork road is around Km 55 and very difficult to get into. It is mostly muskeg and bog, went in via Argo and drove right into the lake. Fished there for about 4 hours, not a bite or riser on the whole lake..

Well you can go in by 4x4 but you'd have to pick your way in. Nice lake but as I said I didnt get a bite and I havnt heard of anyone catching anything out of there for quite a while. Make sure you bring lots of rope and have a good wench. Boggie, boggie, boggie.

One of my favorite winter and summer lakes. It is a nasty trail in the spring, but slow and steady will get you in. The best summer tactic I've found is sinking line with a small light color streamer. Get down about 15 ft along the drop offs and slowly strip your line back in.
