Default Summer of pike

It's been an interesting year for my wife and I so far. We had a baby in March.... literally days before the Covid shutdowns.... and we weren't really sure how our summer was going to go with 5 kids and a newborn mixed in with covid. Well ....I can now say it's been a pretty epic summer of fishing even with the challenges of having a baby with us all the time. We've spent most of the summer chasing big pike and have been rewarded with 6 pike over 40" and dozens of 36-40". We also dont live anywhere near any good lake fishing lol....so most of our trips involve a 2-3 hour drive or more just to get on the water. Summer is winding down and our focus will likely shift to walleye for the last few weeks before the boats are put away.
All fish were caught in Alberta between 3 lakes.

Congrats on some great fish. Good for you and your family to spend the time out there. I can’t imagine how much work it is to get all you do accomplished with travel and set up with a busy family. You and your wife should be very proud. Good luck on the walleyes.

Awesome stuff some nice pike there. Fairly certain I know where you are at in the first and second pic and just my humble opinion that is where I'd be spending my time chasing walleye .

Thanks guys....its definitely a challenge sometimes but we always seem to get it done.

OL_JR lol yeah if you know that lake then you know We fish it fairly regularly especially in winter....but only one trip there this summer so far....it is way busier then it ever has been in the past and the whole point of going there is to get away. Still an absolute gem of a fishery though and pretty sure that's where we will go this coming weekend. We did manage a nice eye or two when we were there in spring though....they should be nice and fattened up now.

Great way to spend a summer. My wife enjoys fishing also, sure like taking her out, except when she catches more & bigger with lures & rigs I set up for her.

Really neat you can involve the kids also, wonderful memories. Love the pics.

Congrats!!
