Default 280ai

Hi, I just picked up my ai and am curious to what you do for reloading. I have a 8” twist in a 24” barrel. I’m thinking of using a 150 grain bullet with some rl22 that I have and a cci magnum primer. I’ve read that the 140grn are the sweet spot but with the twist rate 150’s may react better. I’m not looking for a hot load just accurate. Any suggestions? I realize it’s getting out their and testing but with all of the supply issues It’s not that easy right now.

Thanks in advance.

I used 140gr bullets with R22, as to the rate of twist, I often use lighter bullets in a faster rate of twist, with no issues at all.

I’m running 150’s with IMR4831, in a 25” tube. 3000fps is where I settled, I know I could go faster but this is where it shoots best.

So far I've loaded the 150 gr nosler accubond with RL26 and the 139 gr barnes lrx with RL19.
Mine has the 1:9 twist, 23 " barrel.
Both very accurate and deadly

Mine is a regular 280 with a 9” twist 24” KS Arms barrel. My best accuracy load is Barnes 145LRX, 60.7 gr Rl26, CCI200 primers at 3050 fps.

9” twist should stabilize most conventional bullets up to 175 gr (except some Bergers and monos). 8” twist will work fine with lighter bullets.

In a 26" 1-8 twist I use 162ELDX with Ramshot Magnum, shoots around .75 groups. 175ABLR with H1000, shoots under .25 groups. For fire forming I use 120gr and IMR4350. Using GM215M primers and standard LR primers for fire forming. My rifle likes 10 thou off of jam with every bullet I've tried.

145-150gr I've tried 4831 but couldn't get groups tighter than 1.25", going to try 4350 next.
