whats the fishing like there in august? Fished it early summer many moons ago and it was great. I would think it would be too weedy to even get a boat out there?

Very Nice! We are visiting family in Creston in a few weeks, very happy to hear about this! We were just at Kookanusa (Surveryors) and the Lrg mouth were hitting hard on frogs and I caught a big one on a hula popper, watched him come out from his log, investigate and strike...was one of the best hits I've ever had just watching it.

If you get the time...before I invest in 1 day license, where is best place to park? is shore fishing ok? (not sure if we want to lug the boat there).
Thanks so much!

Its really tough fishing,a boat is super important shore is tough tough. The lake is basically a 6ft deep weed bed. All I can say Is it is NOT a casual place to fish you gotta really work for em!.

Also it's a no motor lake and the path is hard to walk down with nothing in your hands, good luck with a boat. It's not really worth all the effort. There's a reason I look so happy holding that fish and that's only because it was one of only a few.
