I'm a beginner so it's hard for me to say one way or the other. I caught between 20 and 30 Walleye today and would have been well over 50 if I had landed everything I hooked. I even managed a Pike. The boats next to me were doing better. A 10-year-old out fished me 3 or 4 to 1! We marked lots of fish on the finder. The thing was lit up like a Christmas tree a lot of the day.

Well I may need to rip out there tomorrow and see for myself. There were only like 4 million fish in it.

It was slow for us today we only boated 6 fish. I was pretty busy with my sons friend as he was basically on his first fishing trip so I was not able to get a lot of fishing in myself.

Weather was nice then it was cold & windy we also got caught in a squall and got wet. I was tracking a lot of fish on my fish finder before my d cell batteries finally went dead.

There were a fair # of boats on the water as well as lots of people on the dock at the launch & it looked like everyone was catching fish.

Plenty of shore fishing at the boat launch and all around the bridge. Head to Stavely, turn right.

Yes Jamie, you can catch the walleye on a fly rod. As Goldscud said use clousers or minnow patterns. I found black/white, green/white or red/white clousers work great there. I use a type 6 full sink line to get it down.

I think Jts1 forgets the day that him myself and a buddy spent on the water there. We got quite a few on the fly.

Have atter. I should be there sometime Monday later in the afternoon or early evening. Taking my son out before he takes off to Europe in a couple weeks. A good buddy of his has never ever been fishing, so we are going to take him to Chain Lake for some rainbows, then over to PCR for some walleye.

Pretty cool markings on that little guy. Got 2 like that 2 PCR yesterday, along with a bunch of 'eyes; all on the fly rod. Had one clean bite-off that I like to believe was a ginormous pike. Fishing was pretty slow compared to this time last year; water is a fair bit higher- couldn't wade nearly as far.
Still fun, though!

Great day for me today at PCR - took my kids for the first time. Landed 36 walleye and lost as many. My kids were going crazy and I didn't get a moment to sit down. Also met some great people.
