Default What's A bad days fishin to you?

When I read through threads I sometimes see "It was a slow days fishin, only caught 15!".

I never really care (myself) just because I like being out around the water whatever the weather,, and I wont fish with people who leave a days fishing like they're leaving a casino after dropping ten grand.

I also never not catch fish.

River fishing slow anything under 1 or 2
Lake fishing anything under 20

No such thing as a bad day of fishing. Bad day catching. Bad company. Bad to cut your hand open with a knife an hour from town on the river. But I would still take any of those days over work anytime.

Agreed with the above posters. No such thing as bad fishing. Slow days, or even a skunk day, but you are still on the water somewhere, in the fresh air. (well usually) Not working, only stress is which bait/lure/line/rod to use. You could be stuck in traffic for hours, snorting smog, dealing with ***** customers, breathing noxious fumes, or whatever your normal day brings you. There are days I wont catch a fish, but I do it for fun, not to fill my belly, so who cares. Then there are days I catch so many it starts to "almost" become a chore fighting them in. They even out in the end, if you could catch fish every cast the enjoyment would turn to boredom eventually, (maybe?) Im easily amused, I am just as happy toying with little perch on super light gear as I am listening to the screaming drag when a big fish runs off with my line.

The river is still a muddy mess and as far as I can tell I lost the phone in the silt on the bottom. Fished around as far as I could reach in the muck for a while before writing off the phone and giving up.

Now I need to try to find my old phone so I can at least get that hooked up and get myself back in action...

Nothing could beat the look of panic on Dark Aislings face when we were ice fishing and her glasses fell off and headed for the hole. Made a catch that would have gotten her into the Hall of Fame and the sigh of relief she gave off almost blew the tent over!!!! Not quite as good as her Hulk smashing that pike, but right up there! See, thats my point, didnt even have a fish in sight and it was still awesome fishing!!! LMAO

At least I had an okay afternoon fishing. I hit up a new spot for a couple hours...looks like it might be a nice sturgeon hole once the river clears up some...I only managed one sucker (and it had only one eye! ) there before impatience got the best of me and I moved over to my pike spot. Got a surprise there, and pulled out a nice walleye where I've only ever seen pike. Took a pic of him on my phone right before I fumbled it into the river

I don't agree with the bad day fishing is better than a good day working thing. To me a good day working is good weather, good production from my crew, good atmosphere and money in my pocket followed by a cold beer at the end of the day. Bad day fishing is crappy weather, no fish surrounded by other idiots who can't catch fish but can annoy the heck out of you. I'll take a good day working anytime cause a few of those add up to some great days fishing and hunting.

Well, lost my drag off my President reel out fishin with Mike from BowRiverBlog.com.
That's probably the worst day I\ve had.
Fortunately I had two extra reels and fish to go with them, lol.

A bad day fishing is a day in which I can't go fishing

for myself i'd say a bad day of fishing is if nothing going right like having vehicle trouble going there or loosing alot of fishing gear. a few years ago i decided to use the dozens and dozens of walleye divers i bought and so i was useing the biggest size one and made one cast into the lake and reeled in a few feet to only get a huge hit and this monster of a pike opened up his jaw and swallowed the entire lure and wire leader in one gulp and snap went the line. i was so upset at not loosing the fish but loosing the lure cause it was kinda pricey.lol

Oops! Well sorry I missed ya

I actually grabbed a 'pay as you go' phone from The Wal this morning for $68 and it's way cooler than my old phone

The crappy part is I lost all the numbers on my old phone...I guess there's something to be said for the old school address book

So it's the same sentiment all around,, a bad days fishin aint about being skunked? It's better than work -except the one post where the guy has a business,,, of course we need to know if his workers hold the same sentiment as he does (I'm kidding)-

Ya know the first rule in the regs is "be courteous to your fellow fisherpeople" or something to that effect.

My grumbler is catching a really nice pink on a fly and while I'm unhooking it a guy walks up literally two feet from me and doesn't move. So I said "uhm &%^$#@(*&^!!!" and he said "I thought you left the spot!", too many kids around so I walked away,, I'm not normally an angry fellow but when pushed by the blindly audacious I go a bit off in a fisticuffs kinda way, which I don't like. Another fisherman using a buzz bomb however wasn't so kind to the spot stealin __________ and decided to cast over his line repeatedly until he left. Oh and a bad day is also when fido and owner decide to play fetch the stick where I'm standing where there's hundreds of yards of beach,,, Oh and garbage getting left behind. And holier than thou's who tell you to release.

oh that felt good

There is no such a thing,as a bad day of fishing.Yes you can have a bad day of catching. In my opinion it's more about the experience you have or share with others. It's the bonds you share with those you spend time with. My favourite times are the ones I share with my son,or daugthers[more rare as time goes on].
