Default Ford 6.4 diesel

I'm looking for a new to me truck and saw a 2008 f-250 with the 6.4 diesel.
Anyone have one or know someone with one. Good/bad? how do they compare to the others out there.
Appreciate any input

thanks

They had trouble with radiators delaminating, which are very expensive, and the fuel mileage is horrid. I had one for a couple months that a buddy was trying to sell me, but I would just wait and get a 6.7 if I were you. The 6.7 destroyed the market for the 6.4, but it is not a sad loss. Steer clear.

You can check out powerstroke.org and thedieselstop.com and get a ton of info on them.

An improvement over the 6.0L but that's not saying much. Lots of problems with EGR valves/coolers, the rads were covered by warranty, but once off warranty, you're on your own. The rest of the truck is excellent. If you have to have one, there are some things you can do to "bulletproof" them
. (dpf and egr delete for example), be obsessive about fuel filter changes.

From what I've heard the 6.7 is so far head and shoulders better engine.

I have one as well with the edge racing programmer. I have not done the dpf delete yet as I wanted to really test the fule mileage difference with the programmer and then the pipe. I will probably go cat back. Other than fuel mileage I can not complain about the truck. Much better since I added the programmer.
