Default Scrapping a Vehicle

I have an '05 F150 with the camphasers shot and it's not worth fixing. I called a scrapyard and they'd be willing to give me $200 for it. Are there any other options available to make more money from it than that?

Kidney foundation will pick it up and give you a $300 tax write off. Depends which works better for you.

If you have the time and patience, part it out.

Kijiji, say whats wrong and selling as is. Should get way more than the wreckers are offering. Kijiji is free, can't hurt to throw it on and see.

Why is the whole truck 'not worth fixing' just because the cam phasors are worn out?

The price of a set of cam phasors, and at the same time a new oil pump and front timing kit, sounds like a pretty cheap truck to me.

Pulled one valve cover and the cam shaft is all scored. It'd need new heads along with the phasers, etc. Basically the motor is shot and I don't want to invest $10K into a $3K work truck.
I think that I'll list it on kijiji as a parts truck.

Lots on Kijiii though I may not trust all of them unless cash is in hand far ahead of time.
