Importing a gifted firearm from USA

Good Evening;

I was gifted a Ruger #1 from 1976 in 7mm Remington Mag, this holiday weekend in Idaho.

Instead of creating a storm at the border today I wanted to seek feedback from the larger audience of this forum on anyone who may have successfully done this.

The previous owner is willing to provide any relevant bill of transfer as a gift to myself. Any help is most appreciated on this exciting development!

Exporting a firearm from the USA requires an export permit. Canadian citizen can't apply for the export permit, it has to be done by a someone holding a US FFL and an export license.

There are companies/people that will do all of it for you for a price. It will cost in $100-$200.
