How can one describe sort of broke into a cabin?
"The bear had broken in through the glass and got into the cabin
and sort of ransacked the cabin,” said Vicki Trim in a phone interview
with CTV News from Thompson.''
There was an article I read about a Barren Ground Grizzly this past week , anyone recall that either. (oh 3/4 the way through they decide to call it a Barren Grounds Grizz)
They are wanderers and will go where they smell food.
Exciting times if your into following the expansion of them.

Nothing new, they wander down every once in a while, get people excited and carry on. Betting the same thing happens in Saskatchewan, just hasn't made the news.

A truly fascinating animal-getting by in a day to day challenge to sustain itself in it's fragmented and ever changing habitat.
Creeky....

Actually, it's the boars that do the wandering, in search of females.

Don't think he broke into that cabin in search of a female (unless of course there was some sort of sleepover). lol

Not really surprised if it actually was a grizzly. Back in the day they were a plains animal before the settlers pushed them into the hills.

The plains grizzly
Bumbling black bears were not always the apex predators of Saskatchewan's boreal forest. Grizzly bear (Ursus arctos, formerly known as 'ursa horribilis') were once an abundant species in the prairie provinces whose range extended from the Rocky Mountains to east of Winnipeg.
Although the plains population of grizzly bear was deemed extirpated in the 1880s, reports in east-central Saskatchewan and western Manitoba occurred relatively late within the past century. The last reputable sightings occurred in the Pasquia Hills until 1950, and Porcupine Hills in 1960.
White recounted another story of Gerry Murdock, who killed a grizzly bear south of the Pasquia Hills in 1939 and had photographic evidence. The bear terrified Murdock's family for several days, and at one point had "broke into the home, drank a five gallon crock of cream and caused much damage." The bear was shot between the eyes with a gun triggered by a trip wire on the other side of a shed door.

Creeky, thank you for putting it in such words of prophecy.
All those who wander are not lost....
