Default CBC caught making up news and apologizes

CBC before the ALBERTA election made up the fact that emails pressuring the crown prosecutor came from the UCP office.

Now they admit it was false. They add more verbiage to say people felt pressured and Smith apologized for talking to Shandro… however the media must stop making stuff up to sensationalize political stories… especially if they are highly biased like the liberal funded CBC.

Shouldn't Trudo's censorship laws have stopped that false information?

Isn't protesting government a federal offense that is punishable by jail and or bank account seizure?

Only if the false accusations were against him, or his friends.

I see in todays CBC 'News', that they manage to take an article about attempts to recover an endangered fish in Nova Scotia, and twist it into an anti-Harper tirade! Headline: 'Seeking a safe place for one of Canada's most endangered freshwater fish'.
Plus, an article claiming that Harper is cozying up to the 'hard right' government of Hungary.

Question: How long are they going to keep demonizing their favourite boogeyman?

Answer: - until we pull the plug.

Say it ain’t so! Not the communist broadcasting company…what a world. Smith should have taken them to the cleaners just to rub their noses in it. The sooner they’re off the taxpayers back the better.

Sounds a lot like election interference... we need a public inquiry! Like that would ever happen.

My thoughts, could and maybe did have a significant effect on the election outcome. Not only the Chinese we have to worry about.

The news in general is like a fishing story in which depending on who tells it can be wayyyyy over the top but never spot on.

Even spot lock drifts a bit.

Wasn’t CBC doing what they are paid to do? Spread lies and disinformation on behalf of the left? There is a large agenda at play.
I think most people are aware understand this is going on. Lots of elections are won in the media.

Haha they apologize after the election!
Damage done.
At least they did apologize and few people talking about it but not talking about it like before the election.

If the tables were reversed, and Danielle was caught slandering the CBC , do you think the CBC would just let the matter drop?

It wasn't just the CBC, CTV and Global also both went out of their way to stop Smith from being elected. CBC, as one might expect, was the organization that really went overboard though.

Agreed - there was virtually NO coverage of Nutley, and only critical coverage of Smith.
