I agree Bigbore that thing is stacked!! Its net weight (after deducting the mass of the cradle) was 7lbs 12oz's!!
Im interested in what species of suckers these are, if there is anyone out there that could elaborate on there type that would be fantabulous.
Nice fish Buck n lil buck!!

Thats specific no doubt. There are likely more species of carp then there are words on this post.
But I don't think it's a carp. Most carp have a more forward pointing mouth with two barbel looking things (to my knowlege at least). This fish has a horseshoe shaped sucker on the very bottom of its head. The shape of it's head seems unique to me also, very blunt or short.
I could be wrong, it's happend b4.
I'm hoping one of our biologist members can fill us in though.

Thanks anvil! From the pics anvil poster it sure looks like a silver redhorse sucker! I have never heard of carp in the river although i do know of 2 stormwater lakes (manmade) in the city that have sterile carp in them to control algae!!!

No prob Buckmaster...
I always wondered myself if they were carp and yeah I googled it a while back. Out of the 5 I have maybe caught 4.
Silver Redhorse
Shorthead
White
Longnose.
Yet to catch the quill back or the Mountain sucker.
Here are a few pics of some of my catches.

You’re so smart, and that’s incredibly helpful you shouldn't have.
For the record I googled first, ask questions later. That’s actually why I was so confident it wasn't a carp. After I couldn't find a picture of a sucker that looked identical in species to the fish Buckmaster caught, I googled Carp and It didn't look much at all like most the carp that were popping up.
I most certainly didn't find those links that anvil kindly posted in my google search/attempt. That’s exactly why I did ask, because there ARE some questions google can't answer. Plus I don't think "google" has caught any of those suckers before, I was confident in the members of the board there are some very smart and helpful people here.
What do you think this board is for? So people can post and say "go use a search engine like google"?
Sorry for the hijack guys
