Default Sturgeon through the ice

I know the NSR and SSR are open during the winter. Does anyone target Sturgeon through the ice? You would have to have a good piece of ice to make it safe. Even if you found such ice, would they be present or further downstream in Saskatchewan? Maybe in the river portion of Tobin you could try for them. Just curious if people do this or if it is possible, not really wanting to try myself.

Sounds like a death wish to me. Wait another 2 months and I'm sure you'll have more fun.

I don't fish for sturgeon in Alberta. I was just curious if people did. Wouldn't do it.
