I have to admit it was tough cheering for Calgary last night but good win nonetheless. Rivalry is one thing, but strong Canadian team performance (except for the Leafs - ha!) is more important.

Given the option of neither team making it, one team making it, or both teams making it and playing each other in the playoffs, preferably in the 2nd or 3rd round, I know which I'd prefer.

Even with all the dislikable things about the oilers and Eskimos it would never be as fun to watch without the rivalry.

Quick whistle and Flames get robbed on a good goal. Dang.

Will it still count as a battle of alberta when Calgary flames become the Houston floods?

Nice to tie it for OT, kill the penalty, and win it!

He did look good tonight, Smith did ok last night but he flails around to much this season. Rittich looked pretty confidant.

Smith looks like he doesnt have control of his body. But if he can flail around and help get the win all good. Rittich looked great. Awesome comeback.

The flames look more confident in front of Rittich.i can’t imagine them passing the puck back from center on a pk to smith like they did to Rittich tonight .

In my pickup, team sounded good on the radio, replay of the OT winner some sweet goal, Gio pulled Hutton all the way over, tap-in for Johnny.

Totally agree, they look way more relaxed and confident. Why Peters is under the illusion that Smith is their #1 surpasses me.

You state this so often, I'm curious..... You don't actually believe the Flames are leaving anytime soon, do you? I thought everyone knew that was just political posturing.

Has a team, in any of the four major sports in NA, ever left due to the main factor being they couldn't come to some agreement with the city to get a new facility?

Just watched the highlights. Thought it was amusing when Tkachuck scored and Johnny goes to huddle up and Tkachuck skates around him and leaves him hanging. Second amusing point, Eichel standing, just watching Gio and Johnny pass it around and then score. After he scored, Eichel figured out that was his guy and breaks his stick on the net.

Sorry but yes. Seattle Sonics. So the Flames leaving for there would be pretty funny.
Not going to happen though

Rittich looked good. That first goal was a laser. Hopefully they are ettingmore comfortable/confident.

Fair enough. Maybe I should have asked if a team with good attendance ever relocated due to lack of an arena deal. It's a fine line. If attendance was great, would the Sonics have moved?

Playing Avs, anthems sung, and that McKinnon line is deadly, D needs to be sharp.

Especially since Peters is starting Smith again....what is it with that coach?? Smith must have pics of him with a farm animal or something...

Anyway, Go Flames!!

Maybe he picked Smith in his fantasy league that only counts minutes.

Well, if they can hold the Avs to only 4 shots per period, and get 13....they have a good shot at winning. Really fast hockey so far, and Flames did a pretty good job dealing with McKinnon's line....keep it up!

And the Smith Factor kicks in. Gives up a shorty, slapshot from top of circle he saw the whole way. Unbelievable. Bad.
