Default Bow River advice

Hey all,

Just joined and glad to be here! I've been recently out on the bow a few times and been skunked a couple times and caught two fish the other. Just been trying to find some fairly decent spots to spinfish preferably in the south more. I've done some exploring and have found a couple spots that are nice. But my question is, is where roughly are some decent spots or deeper slow moving parts where fish could be? Its a huge river and Id just like to be pointed in the right direction! Any lures or hooks that seem to work well are also appreciated!

Thanks,

Kyle

The Bow is a big river, but at this time of year, the fish are literally everywhere.

It is not really Bow River specific, but the biggest mistake I see people make when fishing a river is not moving. The fish in a river do not move around as much as they would in a lake, so if do not catch anything in 5 or so casts, Move up or down. Unless I am sight fishing (casting to rising fish, for example), I will easily cover 1km of river.

I do not spin cast the Bow, so I do not know what would work. I would assume smaller spinners and crankbaits would work well though.

I swear by Rapalas CD 7 or 9 brown or rainbow. Will work anywhere, but deep holes and walking speed water always seem best on a slow retrieve. Good luck!
