New Boat Launch
The MD of Taber has put in a boat launch on the Oldman River. Across from the MD of Taber park. 5 minutes from my house. 10 minutes for some of the best fishing in southern Alberta. Camera quite for the big one of the night a 29" walleye. This is going to be good.

Funny enough, we've been thinking of heading down that way over Labour Day weekend. Never been to "The Forks" before, so we might just head down there and battle the crowds of Hutterites (so I've heard...) and see what all is in the river(s)...

Lots of fish in the river. 30 fish in 2 trips. The walleye were on the bite tonight. 2 double headers. All 4 were keepers. A 27" was the biggest.

Great to see a new boat launch at Taber, I am waiting for city counsel in Lethbridge to build a decent boat launch in Lethbridge, presently we do not have a decent launch in town. Looks good Taber.

Hi Dale,
What's the water level like? Easy to get around or lots of sand and gravel bars?
I have a very similar boat, maybe a bit bigger, what engine do you have in there?

With just over 31m3/s, it is low, well below average. The Oldmad is full of gravel bars, definitely have to watch where your going. Teflon on the bottom is a must on the Oldman.
I have a 175 Mercury Sport Jet. Nice and lite.

Nice fish and nice launch! Wish there were a few more developed launches like this around my neck of the woods! We have a lot of unimproved gravel launches and boy some people sure tear those things up!!
